3,6-Bis(Trifluoromethyl)phenanthren-9-yl]-piperidin-2-ylmethanol is an antimalarial drug that belongs to the quassinoid class of drugs. It has a high therapeutic index and a low toxicity profile. 3,6-Bis(Trifluoromethyl)phenanthren-9-yl]-piperidin-2-ylmethanol inhibits the growth of malaria parasites by inhibiting the uptake of red blood cells into the parasite's vacuole. This drug is used at doses of 10mg per day for adults and 5mg per day for children.
