Bis(3-hydroxypropyl)disulfide's chemical formula is HS-CH2-CH2-OH. It is made up of two parts: sulfide (sulphur) and hydroxyl (oxygen). When bis(3-hydroxypropyl)disulfide is mixed with potassium phosphate (KH2PO4), it will form a disulfide bond. This reaction will produce heat and light as byproducts.
