Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is a steroid hormone that is produced in the body. It is converted from testosterone by the enzyme 5-alpha reductase. The drug 1-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-1-methyl-ethylamine has been shown to block the synthesis of DHT by inhibiting 5-alpha reductase, which prevents the conversion of testosterone into DHT.
