Description :
o-Chloromethyl benzoyl chloride is a metabolic disorder agent that has been shown to have a therapeutic effect on bowel disease. It has also been shown to be an inhibitor of epidermal growth factor, which is involved in the development of cancer cells. o-Chloromethyl benzoyl chloride acts by binding to the receptor and inhibiting uptake. The hydroxyl group on the molecule provides the necessary reactivity for this binding. The synthesis of o-chloromethyl benzoyl chloride can be traced back to hydrochloric acid and an amide that contains nitrogen atoms. This compound is used in detergent compositions as well as a growth factor in vivo model.
