Description

2-Chloro-1,1-dimethoxyethane is an organic compound. It is used as a solvent for the manufacture of other chemicals, in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, and as a chemical intermediate. 2-Chloro-1,1-dimethoxyethane reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce an anthelmintic drug. It has been shown to have cancer chemotherapeutic activity in vitro and in vivo. The detection sensitivity of this drug is around 10 nmol/L. 2-Chloro-1,1-dimethoxyethane also has biological properties that are related to its ability to cause DNA strand breaks and interfere with protein synthesis.
