Description

Creatine phosphate is a high-energy phosphate that is found in muscles and other tissues. It is the immediate precursor of ATP, which provides energy for muscle contraction. Creatine phosphate disodium tetrahydrate (CP) has been shown to be effective in treating geriatric patients with creatine kinase deficiency. CP is a homologous protein that can react with either guanidinoacetate or creatine in order to regenerate ATP. Creatine phosphate also plays an important role in bone metabolism, where it acts as a buffer against acidosis during periods of ischemia and reperfusion. Creatine phosphate forms hydrogen bonds with proteins, which may be responsible for its ability to inhibit protein synthesis. This product can be used in chromatographic applications for the separation and purification of proteins or nucleic acids.
