Description :5-Chloro-2-hydroxypyridine is an organic molecule that contains a water molecule. It has been shown to inhibit the enzyme diaphorase, which is involved in the production of acid in the body. 5-Chloro-2-hydroxypyridine also interacts with dipole molecules and forms a carbonyl group with them, which is a chemical bond. This compound has been shown to be effective against mouse mammary carcinoma cells, human colon carcinoma cells, and human carcinoma cells. FTIR spectroscopy has revealed that 5-chloro-2-hydroxypyridine absorbs light at around 1615 cm−1 and 1742 cm−1.
