Description :
2,6-Bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-nonylphenol is a monomer that is used in the manufacture of polyurethane. It is an organic solvent with a low boiling point and a viscosity of 1.8 centipoise at 20 degrees Celsius. 2,6-Bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-nonylphenol has been shown to be capable of solidifying at low temperatures and has been used as an additive for aliphatic polymers and phenolic resins. This compound also reacts with amines to form aromatic amines.2,6-Bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-nonylphenol can be used in the manufacture of vessel temperature instruments and has been shown to cause convulsions in rats when injected into the brain or spinal cord.
