• Description: (±)-Cyhalothric acid is an organic compound that belongs to the class of l-tartaric acids. It is a reactive molecule, which can be synthesized from (±)-cyhalothrin, an insecticide. Cyhalothric acid has been used in the synthesis of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies as a reactant for antigen binding. The optimal reaction conditions for this compound are hydrochloric acid at 0°C to room temperature. Inorganic acids such as trifluoroacetic acid may cause undesired side reactions, such as hydrolysis of cyhalothric acid.
