Description

2-Chloro-4,5-difluorobenzonitrile (DFC) is a phase transfer catalyst that is used in the fluorination of organic compounds. It can be used to synthesize fluorinated benzenes and other aromatic hydrocarbons. DFC is a dipolar molecule that transfers between two phases of different polarity, such as an organic solvent and water. This reaction occurs at temperatures below 100 °C, which makes it useful for industrial processes.
