Description

Cyclo-Somatostatin acetate salt Cyclo(-7-aminoheptanoyl-Phe-D-Trp-Lys-Thr(Bzl)) acetate salt is a somatostatin antagonist that inhibits the release of growth hormone and other hormones from the pituitary gland. Somatostatin is an octapeptide with cyclic structure. This drug has been shown to inhibit the uptake of Ca2+ ions in the cytosol, which may be due to its ability to block voltage sensitive Ca2+ channels. Cyclo-Somatostatin acetate salt Cyclo(-7-aminoheptanoyl-Phe-D-Trp-Lys-Thr(Bzl)) acetate salt also blocks receptor activity and benzalkonium chloride, which can interfere with somatostatin receptors on cells in the gastrointestinal tract.
