Cyclo(-Arg-Gly-Asp-D-Phe-Val) trifluoroacetate salt also has antiangiogenic effects and blocks the angiogenesis process by inhibiting the production of epidermal growth factor (EGF). This drug may be useful for treating certain types of cancer such as malignant brain tumors or neuroblastomas, because it can cause neuronal death.
