Description

2-Chloro-N-[4-(piperidin-1-ylsulfonyl)phenyl]acetamide is a molecule with centrosymmetric and benzyl groups. It is an antibacterial medicine that inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the ribosome and preventing protein synthesis. 2-Chloro-N-[4-(piperidin-1-ylsulfonyl)phenyl]acetamide has been shown to be effective against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) isolates, as well as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex strains. It also has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
