Description

4-[(Chloroacetyl)amino]benzoic acid (CLABA) is a proton-donating compound with an inhibitory effect on human serum. This drug has been shown to enhance the anticancer activity of adriamycin in mice. CLABA is also able to inhibit the production of amyloid β-peptide, which is associated with Alzheimer's disease. It has been shown that CLABA binds to the surface of cancer cells, causing them to become more permeable and accumulate in the blood vessel walls. These effects may be due to its ability to interact with amino acids and chloride ions. This drug also interacts with micelles, which are aggregates of amphiphilic molecules that have surfactant properties, enhancing their anticancer activity.
