Informations sur le produit
- Pyrimidine, 5-chloro-2-methoxy-
- 5-Chloro-2-Methoxypyrimidine
5-Chloro-2-methoxy-pyrimidine is a synthetic compound that is used in organic chemistry as a building block for the synthesis of other compounds. It is a white crystalline solid that can be prepared by reacting 5-chloro-2,4-dimethoxypyrimidine with hydrochloric acid and sodium chloride. 5-Chloro-2-methoxy-pyrimidine reacts with electron donating solvents such as dichloromethane or chloroform to form an adduct. The reaction proceeds via formation of the chloropyrimidinium ion, which loses chloride to give the desired product. 5-Chloro-2methoxypyridine has been shown to dehalogenate naphthalene and hydrogen chloride with yields of 50% and 75%, respectively.
The product also functions as a gradient eluent in the separation of mesitylene from other products, yielding a chromat
