2-Chloro-3-methylquinoxaline is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of anilines. It has been shown to be a useful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent. 2-Chloro-3-methylquinoxaline has also been used as a precursor for the synthesis of more complex molecules, such as morpholine and trifluoroacetic acid. The ether linkages in this molecule are susceptible to nucleophilic attack by amines or chlorine, which can cause hydrolysis to form 2,4,6-trichloroaniline (2TCA). This compound is not active against candida glabrata.
