4-Chloro-2-iodobenzoic acid is a synthetic molecule that belongs to the class of nitrobenzoic acids. The optimized geometries and electrostatic properties of 4-chloro-2-iodobenzoic acid were calculated by molecular electrostatic potential calculations, which revealed that this compound has a high degree of hydrogen bonding with other molecules. This chemical is crystalline, with a fingerprint in the diffraction pattern. It has been found to have excellent antibacterial properties, as well as an ability to inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex.
