Description

Cypermethrin is a synthetic chemical pesticide that belongs to the group of pyrethroids, and it is used for the control of insects. It has been shown to have genotoxic activity in vitro, with significant synergy with other insecticides. Cypermethrin also inhibits the enzyme activities of acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase, which are involved in chemical neurotransmission. This compound has been shown to be toxic in both acute and long-term studies, where its toxicity was correlated with the duration of exposure. The most common adverse effects are skin irritation, eye irritation, and blurred vision.
