Description

Choline hydroxide is a choline salt. It is the precursor for acetylcholine, which is involved in memory and muscle contraction. Choline hydroxide is found in many foods, including eggs, liver, soybeans, wheat germ oil, and peanuts. The uptake of choline hydroxide by an atherosclerotic lesion has been studied using metabolic profiles. Choline hydroxide also has been shown to be metabolized by humans and microbes. In addition to being used as a nutrient supplement, it may be used as an anti-cancer agent due to its ability to inhibit cancer cell proliferation.
