Description :
3-Cyano-4-hydroxybenzoicacid is a methyl ester that is used as an investigational drug. It has been shown to be effective in vitro against rat hepatocytes and sensitive to the formyl group. 3-Cyano-4-hydroxybenzoicacid also inhibits the growth of hyperglycemic rats. 3-Cyano-4-hydroxybenzoicacid competitively inhibits glucose utilization by inhibiting the enzyme pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase, which is important for maintaining glucose levels in cells.
