Informations sur le produit
- 4-Chloro-3-Picoline
- 3-Methyl-4-Chloropyridine
- 4-Chloro-5-methylpyridine
4-Chloro-3-methylpyridine is a carbanionic compound with pharmacological activity. It is prepared as a sodium salt. 4-Chloro-3-methylpyridine is used as a starting material for the synthesis of ellipticines, which are analogues of the natural product FK506. The synthetic route to this molecule starts with the reaction of 3,4-dimethylaniline with phosphorus pentachloride to give 4-chloro-3-methylpyridine. This intermediate is then reacted with methyllithium to give an NMR spectrum that shows three singlets at 2.34, 2.50 and 2.89 ppm for the methyl protons in the pyridine ring.
