Description

Chebulagic acid is a natural compound that is present in many plants, including the bark of the Indian tree Chebulic myrobalan. It has been shown to have inhibitory properties against chronic cough caused by syncytial virus infection and postprandial blood glucose levels. In addition, chebulagic acid has demonstrated significant cytotoxicity against human bronchial cells and has been shown to suppress influenza A virus replication in vitro. This compound also interacts with toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and may be used as a pharmacological agent.
