Copper(II) meso-tetraphenylporphine is a tetragonal molecule with the chemical formula Cu2(TPPP). It has a redox potential of +0.18 V, and its phase transition temperature is -5°C. Copper(II) meso-tetraphenylporphine has been shown to be ferroelectric and bistable, which means that it can switch between two stable states. The metastability of copper(II) meso-tetraphenylporphine can be attributed to the strong binding of the Cu2+ ion with oxygen and hydrogen atoms in the molecule. Copper(II) meso-tetraphenylporphine is a receptor molecule for water vapor, which changes its physical properties when it interacts with this substance. Copper(II) meso-tetraphenylporphine is also used as a diode, where it acts as an electrical conductor
