Description

Castor oil (CO) is a non-toxic, natural product that has been used for centuries as a laxative. It is made up of triglycerides and fatty acids, which are metabolized by the liver to produce glycerol and fatty acids. Castor oil can be administered orally or intravenously in humans. CO has been shown to have synergistic effects with sodium citrate, glycol ester, and eye disorders such as retinal detachment. Castor oil has also been proposed as an ecological alternative to the use of chemical solvents in certain processes such as surface methodology or anti-pcsk9 antibody production.
