Description

Cyclo(D-phenylalanyl-L-prolyl) is a cyclic lipopeptide that belongs to the genus of cyclic tetrapeptides. Cyclo(D-phenylalanyl-L-prolyl) has been shown to have a number of physiological activities, including an antihypertensive effect in rats and an effect on metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus in mice. The molecule also has a number of properties that make it useful for therapeutic applications, such as its hydrophobic character and high uptake by cells. Cyclo(D-phenylalanyl-L-prolyl) is also effective against human pathogens, such as Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus.
