• Description: Cinnamoyl chloride is a reactive compound that can be used as a precursor in the synthesis of cinnamic acid. It reacts with water to form hydrogen chloride and cinnamic acid. Cinnamoyl chloride has shown anti-inflammatory activity in experimental models, but its mechanism of action is not well understood. The compound may act by binding to receptors or by inhibiting enzymes such as cytochrome P450.
