Description

2-Coumaranone is a compound that inhibits group p2 of the human serum. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria, and has been used as an experimental model system for studying thermal expansion. 2-Coumaranone has also been shown to have chemiluminescent properties, which allow it to be used in a reaction solution for molecular docking analysis. It is currently being studied for its anti-infective properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit bowel disease and eye disorders. 2-Coumaranone is also an active ingredient in eye drops that help treat dry eyes and other eye disorders. This compound is found in plants such as dehydrocostus lactone, which are used in traditional Chinese medicine.
