Candesartan-d4 is an angiotensin receptor antagonist, which belongs to a class of drugs that blocks the action of the hormone angiotensin II. Candesartan-d4 was tested in tissue samples and showed no significant binding of the drug to any tissues. The affinity of candesartan-d4 for human angiotensin II receptors was investigated by LC-MS/MS analysis. The affinities were calculated by fitting the data to a one site competition model and comparing with other known compounds. The pharmacokinetics of candesartan-d4 were studied in humans, where it was found that its bioavailability is high and its metabolism is extensive. Candesartan-d4 has been shown to have antihypertensive activity in humans and can be used for the treatment of hypertension.
