Description

1-Cyclohexylethanol is a colorless oily liquid with a pleasant odor that is soluble in water and reacts with acids. The molecular weight of 1-cyclohexylethanol is 136.17 g/mol and the melting point is -70 °C. Its chemical formula is C6H14O and the molecular structure can be seen below:

The hydrogen bond between the oxygen atom of the hydroxyl group and the hydrogen atom of the methyl group makes 1-cyclohexylethanol soluble in water, alcohols, glycerin, ethers, and acetone. It has a boiling point of 169 °C at atmospheric pressure.
