Description :Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It is used for the treatment of streptococcal pharyngitis. Clindamycin hydrochloride monohydrate has been shown to inhibit human polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) migration in vitro, which may be due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Clindamycin also has an effect on oral pathogens. This drug binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. Clindamycin hydrochloride monohydrate has been shown to inhibit Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus sobrinus, and Enterococcus faecalis growth in vitro.
