Description :
cis-Isohumulone is a bitter acid that belongs to the group of chemical compounds called beta-cyclodextrin. It is found in hops, which are used as a flavoring and preservative agent in beer brewing. cis-Isohumulone has been shown to be highly potent inducers of CYP2E1 and CYP3A4. This compound also has the capability to inhibit protein synthesis by binding to ribosomes. It can be detected using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) as it is soluble in organic solvents, but not in water. cis-Isohumulone can be identified by its cyclic structure, which can be chemically ionized or ionized by mass spectrometry methods.
