Description :
C2 ceramide-1-phosphate is a cyclase that has high specificity for the C2 position of diacylglycerol. It interacts with the death domain and regulates apoptosis in eukaryotic cells. The protein may also modulate cell signaling pathways that lead to programmed cell death. C2 ceramide-1-phosphate is expressed in a number of isoforms, including short and long forms. The short form has been shown to have high cyclase activity, while the long form has been shown to have high adenylate cyclase activity.
