• Description: Trans-1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol is a polyester that has been used as a plasticizer and lubricant. It has high resistance to methanol and fatty acids. Trans-1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol is prepared industrially by the reaction of cyclohexane with formaldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst. The chemical structure of trans-1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol consists of two hydroxyl groups, one carboxylic acid group, two carbonyl groups and three conformational properties.
