Description

Isocyclosporin A is a cyclic peptide that belongs to the group of fatty acid containing compounds. It has been found to be stable in hydrochloric acid and to have a low melting point. The compound contains an amide functional group, which can be identified by spectroscopic methods. Isocyclosporin A is fluorescent and the fluorescence intensity can be measured using a fluorescence assay. Isocyclosporin A also has an extractant that is used for purification of this compound from plasma proteins. This extractant uses a fluorescence assay as well as hplc methods to measure the amount of protein contained in the sample.
