Description

Caprylohydroxamic acid is a medicine that belongs to the group of hydroxamic acids. It has been shown to decolorize skin cells and leaves, with a high antioxidant potential. This compound also has antimicrobial activity, which is due to its ability to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as emulsifying and overoxidation. Caprylohydroxamic acid has synergistic effects with other antioxidants, such as phenolic compounds and tannins, which makes it an effective agent for preventing lipid peroxidation. Caprylohydroxamic acid has been shown to be an excellent emulsifier and can be used for stabilizing emulsions in sunscreens or lotions. It is also used as an antioxidant additive in food products like chocolate or cocoa powder. Caprylhydroxamic acid can also be applied topically on the skin for photoprotection from ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
