Description :
Cathepsin Inhibitor III is a protease inhibitor that inhibits the activity of cathepsins, which are proteolytic enzymes. It also has an ability to inhibit colony-stimulating factor (CSF) and autophagy, which is the process by which cells degrade their own organelles and proteins to generate energy. Cathepsin Inhibitor III can inhibit the development of colorectal adenocarcinoma in mice. This agent has also been shown to have anti-cancer effects on malignant brain tumors in rats. Cathepsin Inhibitor III may be able to induce apoptosis and mitochondrial membrane depolarization through caspase-independent cell death pathways.
