Cyclodextrin is a cyclic oligosaccharide that forms stable complexes with hydrophobic molecules such as drugs. A cyclodextrin polymer consists of a number of cyclodextrin molecules linked together by ether bonds. Cyclodextrin polymers are able to form stable complexes with drugs, which can be used for the delivery of certain drugs to specific cells or tissues. Cyclodextrin polymers have been shown to be clinically effective in the treatment of peroxide-induced damage and also has potential applications in drug interactions.
