Description :
3-Chlorophthalic acid is a heterogeneous mixture of isomeric compounds that can be obtained by the reaction of chloral hydrate with sodium salts and fatty acids. 3-Chlorophthalic acid has been used as a solid catalyst in the production of diazonium salt, which is then used for the preparation of other organic compounds. 3-Chlorophthalic acid reacts with an oxidizing agent, such as potassium permanganate, to produce nitrogen dioxide and lead to light emission. 3-Chlorophthalic acid also has various applications in medicine, including use as a magnetic particle and receptor activity.
