Description :1-(2-Chlorophenyl)-piperazine hydrochloride is a potent, selective, and orally active antipsychotic agent that has been shown to produce a pharmacological profile similar to that of clozapine. 1-(2-Chlorophenyl)-piperazine hydrochloride binds to the 5-HT1A receptor with high affinity and antagonizes 5-HT2C receptors. It also has affinity for the dopamine D3 receptor in the nanomolar range, which may be due to its piperazine structure. 1-(2-Chlorophenyl)-piperazine hydrochloride is a serotonin antagonist that blocks serotonin receptors in the brain and spinal cord.
