• Description: 2-Chloropyrazine is a pharmaceutical preparation of 2-chloro-N,N-diphenylacetamide that is used in the treatment of chronic bronchitis. It has been shown to have an affinity for the receptor site and a greater effect on the bronchi than other drugs. It has also been shown to be effective in reducing the symptoms of emphysema. 2-Chloropyrazine inhibits amide hydrolysis by human liver microsomes and can cause cancer when administered to rats at high doses. It is also thought to inhibit DNA synthesis in mammalian cells.
