2-Chlorobenzenesulfonamide is a chemical compound that contains a chlorine atom. It inhibits the production of inflammatory molecules by inhibiting the activity of protein kinase C and phospholipase A2, which are enzymes that control the production of proinflammatory cytokines. 2-Chlorobenzenesulfonamide has been shown to have anti-cancer properties in cervical cancer cells and has been used to treat inflammatory diseases such as asthma, psoriasis, and rheumatoid arthritis. This drug is also being investigated as an inhibitor of HIV replication.
