2,3-Cyclopentenopyridine is a molecule that has been synthesized in two different ways. The first method uses glycerin as a precursor and the second uses human serum albumin as a precursor. The vibrational spectra of both compounds have been recorded and analyzed, revealing that the molecule has a cyclopenta ring with three double bonds. Structural analysis reveals that the molecule contains five rings and nine atoms, including one sulphur atom. This compound is chemically diverse, containing both heterocycles and alkyl groups. It also has low energy levels, which makes it suitable for use in antiviral treatments such as Covid-19 for pandemic influenza A (H1N1). Hydrochloric acid activates 2,3-cyclopentenopyridine to form an intermediate product. Activation energies of 2,3-cyclopentenopyridine are found to be around 12 kcal/mol.
