Description :
4-Chloro-7-(trifluoromethyl)quinazoline is a quinazoline that is used as an antimalarial drug. It has been shown to be effective against Plasmodium falciparum, the most common malaria parasite in humans. 4-Chloro-7-(trifluoromethyl)quinazoline has been shown to have antiplasmodial activity against both chloroquine and sulfadoxine/pyrimethamine resistant strains of P. falciparum and has been found to be well tolerated in humans. This compound is synthesized by the reaction of 4-aminophenol with chlorotrimethylsilane.
