• Description: Cis-1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid is a fatty acid that belongs to the class of cyclohexane carboxylic acids. It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of calcium stearate and borohydride reduction in vitro. The compound also inhibits the activity of enzymes that catalyze carboxylation reactions, such as fatty acid synthase (FAS) and acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC). Cis-1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid is a metabolite of hippuric acid, which is produced by the human liver. Hippuric acid may be used for cancer therapy because it is a good substrate for radiation and can inhibit tumor growth. This molecule has two enantiomers: cis and trans.
