Description :
2-Cyano-L-phenylalanine is a chiral amino acid that can be used as a building block in the synthesis of glycopeptides. It is formed by an asymmetric transfer of the phenyl group from L-phenylalanine to 2-cyanoacrylic acid. The stereoisomers of 2-cyano-L-phenylalanine are optically active and can be used in the synthesis of peptides with desired properties. The hydration process of this amino acid is slow, and it has been shown to produce yields up to 99%.
