Description

L-4-Carbamoylphenylalanine is a synthetic amino acid that interacts with the synthetase enzyme and incorporates into the growing peptide chain. L-4-Carbamoylphenylalanine is a permissive substrate for most aminoacyl synthetases, and it can be used to study the interactions between the aminoacyl trna and the synthetase. It has been shown to incorporate into proteins at site-specific locations, which can be targeted by other molecules. This synthetic amino acid has been used to study factors that allow or limit incorporation of L-4-Carbamoylphenylalanine into protein chains.
