Description

4-{[(4'-chloro[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl)sulfonyl]amino}benzoic acid is a novel inhibitor of uropathogenic escherichia coli. It has been shown to be active against the pathogenesis of uropathogenic E. coli by inhibiting the production of fimbriae, which are important in adhesion to bladder cells. Computational studies have shown that 4-{[(4'-chloro[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl)sulfonyl]amino}benzoic acid can inhibit the activity of escherichia at multiple sites and has potential as a drug for healthcare providers to use in the prevention or treatment of UTI. This drug was also found to be effective against catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) and can be derivatised with various functional groups to increase its stability, including
