• Description: Cefoperazone sodium impurity A is a by-product of cefoperazone that is created during the preparation process. It is found in freeze-dried powder injections of cefoperazone and tazobactam sodium. Cefoperazone sodium impurity A has antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae, but not against gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli.
