It is also used to treat bacterial infections in humans, especially those caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Cefoperazone sodium impurity F has been shown to inhibit melanogenesis in vitro with IC50 values of 41.3 μM and 18.4 μM for human epidermal melanocytes and B16F10 mouse melanoma cells, respectively.
