Description :
3-Cyanobenzenesulfonyl chloride is a reactive oxidant that has been used in the synthesis of amines. 3-Cyanobenzenesulfonyl chloride is also an effective inhibitor of reverse transcriptase and other enzymes with a mechanism involving the formation of covalent adducts with amino acid residues. Kinetic studies have shown that 3-cyanobenzenesulfonyl chloride binds reversibly to the enzyme, which has led to its use as a kinetic modifier for mechanistic study. This compound is also a good focus for kinetic parameters because it reacts rapidly and can be used as a constant in kinetic studies.
